Hooker Furniture Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Hooker Furniture (HOFT) reported that its net income for its fiscal 2015 second quarter ended August 3, 2014 rose to $2.27 million or $0.21 per share, from $1.69 million or $0.16 per share in the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.23 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

But, net sales for the quarter declined to $54.88 million from last year's $55.30 million, primarily due to decreased unit volume in both segments, partially offset by higher average selling prices in upholstery.
