Hitachi America Appoints Steve Campbell Vice President of Marketing for Server Systems Group

Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT) (TOKYO:6501), today announced that it has named former Sun Microsystems executive Steve Campbell as vice president of marketing for the Hitachi America, Ltd., Server Systems Group (SSG). Mr. Campbell will be responsible for all marketing initiatives for the Server Systems Group in North America, including inbound and outbound marketing, competitive research, analyst and public relations, product management and promotion of all SSG products, including the Blade Symphony server line. Mr. Campbell joins Hitachi from Sun, where he spent seven years, most recently as vice president of marketing for Sun’s Strategic Insight Office and, prior to that, as vice president of marketing for Sun’s Enterprise Systems Products division. Prior to his tenure at Sun, Mr. Campbell held similar positions at FPS Computing and Convex Computer Corp. "Steve brings not only a passion for marketing and technology, but a deep understanding of the issues facing enterprises in the data center today,” said Elizabeth King, vice president and general manager of Hitachi America, Server Systems Group.
