Hillsdale College Launches New, Free Online Course: "Theology 101: The Western Theological Tradition"
HILLSDALE, Mich., May 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hillsdale College announces the launch of its new online course, "Theology 101: The Western Theological Tradition." The free, not-for-credit 10-week course examines the origins and development of Western theology from the Old Testament through the twentieth century.
"The Western theological tradition has had a profound impact on the development of Western Civilization as a whole," said Larry P. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College and lecturer for two of the course's lessons. "That's why there has never been a great university that was not heavily concerned with the question of God, and there has never been serious Christian practice that has not been heavily concerned with learning."
"Theology 101" is taught by Larry P. Arnn, professor of politics and history; Thomas J. Burke, professor of humanities; Jordan Wales, professor of theology; and Donald J. Westblade, assistant professor of religion.
