Hess Posts Loss In Q3, Projects Lower Oil, Gas Production In Fy16
(RTTNews) - Hess Corp. (HES) Wednesday said it expects a reduction in 2016 production compared to its outlook for the fiscal 2015.
The company expects full year 2016 oil and gas production in a range of 330 thousand to 350 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day or boepd, while its 2015 projection was in a range of 370 thousand to 375 thousand boepd. For the fourth quarter the company expects oil and gas production of 360 thousand boepd.
For the third quarter, the company reported attributable net loss of $279 million or $0.98 per share, compared to a profit of $1.008 billion or $3.31 per share last year. On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomsun Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $1.20 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter declined to $1.689 billion from $2.736 billion a year ago. Wall Street was looking for $1.57 billion.
