HealthSouth Q1 EPS Misses Estimate

(RTTNews) - HealthSouth Corp. (HLS) reported net income for the first quarter of $46.7 million or $0.48 per share, compared to $51.3 million or $0.48 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Consolidated net operating revenues for the first quarter grew 3.2% to $591.2 million from $572.6 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.49 per share on revenue of $594.07 million for the first quarter.

Based on its first quarter results, the company now expects its full-year 2014 earnings per share from continuing operations to be at the high end of of its previously issued guidance range of $1.86 to $1.91. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.91 per share for the full year 2014.
