Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Q3 Income Retreats 46%

(RTTNews) - Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (HIG) released earnings for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line dropped to $222 million, or $0.60 per share. This was lower than $413 million, or $1.06 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.57 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 0.8% to $4.68 billion. This was down from $4.72 billion last year.
