He will also be a member of Harman Group Executive Committee. Prior to joining Harman in 2006, Schinagel held a series of senior management roles in technology and innovation for BMW Group, Siemens Semiconductor Division, Bosch and Telefunken. He earned a degree in Electro Mechanics from Germany’s Heilbronn Technical Institute. Dr. Erich Geiger, who has served as Harman’s Chief Technology Officer since 1998, will retire in August following a distinguished career that spans more than 40 years, including 15 years at Harman. He will continue to serve the company in a group consulting capacity under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. David Karch is appointed to the new position of Senior Vice President, Operational Excellence, effective immediately. He will also be a member of Harman Group Executive Committee. His charter includes both accelerating migration of the Company’s global footprint and strengthening its processes for quality, supply chain and productivity.
