Hardy Wine Company Launches Two New 'Red' Blends; Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz Grenache Added to Popular Stamp Line

The Hardys Stamp of Australia range, which offers one ofAustralia's most popular, easy to drink selections of wines ataffordable prices, has added two new blends to its line-up: a ShirazCabernet Sauvignon and a Shiraz Grenache.

"Blending Shiraz with other varieties has been a long-standingtradition in Australia," says Sally Osborne, Marketing Director forHardys Stamp of Australia. "The Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is a classicAussie blend, marrying the spicy character of Shiraz with the body ofCabernet Sauvignon. With the recent resurgence in the popularity ofrose wines, as consumers and critics alike begin to realize theirpotential, we felt that it was time for Hardys to make a rose of itsown. Using two of the two great Australian varietals, Shiraz andGrenache, we've succeeded in producing a truly refreshing wine. Servedchilled, this wine makes the perfect accompaniment to everything fromsummer barbecue to spicy Thai dishes, and is just as nice on its own."

The 2003 Hardys Stamp of Australia Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon ismedium to deep purple in color and displays spicy white pepper, redcherry and black currant aromas. This wine tastes of fresh fruit andsubtle vanillin toasty oak. Soft tannins provide complexity, resultingin a very approachable, fruit-driven and distinctive style of wine.

The 2005 Hardys Stamp of Australia Shiraz Grenache rose is abrilliant light crimson pink in color and displays aromas of freshstrawberries. Sweet berry fruit flavors dominate the palate. Bracingacidity with a slight hint of sweetness, coupled with its brightfruit, give this wine a luscious, mouthwatering finish.
