Greenbrier Reports Q3 Adj. EPS Of $0.89; Projects Q4 Revenue Nearly $1.0 Bln

(RTTNews) - The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. (GBX) said it gained the momentum the company expected during the third quarter, led by improved operating efficiencies in its core North American manufacturing business. However, these gains were muted in the overall financial results due to continued weakness in railcar repair business and certain international operations, along with costs associated with the ARI acquisition.

Third-quarter adjusted net earnings attributable to company of $29.6 million or $0.89 per share, excluding the goodwill impairment and ARI acquisition costs. Revenue increased to $856.15 million from $641.39 million, previous year.

For the fourth quarter, the company expects: EPS will be $1.30 - 1.50 excluding any ARI acquisition costs or operational benefits; and revenue will be nearly $1.0 billion.
