Grainger Reports April Sales Growth Of 1% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Grainger (GWW), North America's leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products, Wednesday said sales in the month of April grew 1 percent from last year.

Sales improved 1 percent in the U.S., while it dropped 6 percent in Canada. Sales in Canada were up 5 percent in local currency.

Results for the month included 1 percentage point from acquisitions and a 3 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange.

Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic sales increased 3 percent driven by 4 percentage points from volume, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline in price.

April had 22 selling days, the same as last year. The 2015 second quarter will have 64 selling days, the same number as the previous year.
