Global Leaders Converge In San Jose, Social Innovation Takes Center Stage At Enactus World Cup 2018

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Enactus World Cup 2018 convenes Tuesday, October 9, to showcase social entrepreneurship. The signature event for Enactus, a global non-profit with more than 72,000 student members, runs through October 11 and features leading social innovation projects developed by Enactus student teams from 36 countries across 1,730 university campuses.

"This week, Enactus showcases the next generation of leaders who are forging new solutions to our world's greatest challenges by addressing them with a head for business and heart for the world," said Enactus president and CEO Rachael Jarosh. "Hosting the Enactus World Cup in San Jose gives our global network the opportunity to collaborate with a highly innovative business community."

During the event, Enactus National Champion teams present their social entrepreneurship projects to panels of notable global business leaders. The Enactus World Water Race champions will be named on October 10 and will be awarded funding to scale their work.  The Enactus World Champion team will be named on October 11, and will be awarded the Ford Better World Award of $50,000USD with the top 3 runners-up earning prize monies as well.
