General Mills Recalls Betty Crocker Cake Mix Over E.coli Risk
(RTTNews) - General Mills Inc. (GIS) is expanding its previously announced flour recall to include two flavors of Betty Crocker cake mix sold in the U.S. and one flavor sold in Canada due to potential E. coli contamination.
The Betty Crocker cake mixes recalled in the U.S are:
- Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Party Rainbow Chip Cake Mix of UPC code 000-16000-40997 and Used by Dates of MAR 25 2017, MAR 28 2017, APR 27 2017, APR 28 2017, MAY 23 2017, MAY 24 2017, and MAY 25 2017.
- Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Carrot Cake Mix of UPC code 000-16000-40987 and Used by Dates of APR 12 2017, APR 13 2017, APR 14 2017, MAY 28 2017, MAY 29 2017, MAY 30 2017, JUL 07 2017 and JUL 08 2017.
The Betty Crocker cake mix recalled in Canada is:
- Betty Crocker Super Moist Rainbow Bit Cake Mix of UPC code 000-65633-46589 and Used by Dates of 27AL2017, 08JN2017 and 09JN2017.
General Mills is also warning consumers not to consume uncooked cake batter or raw flour products.
On May 31, 2016, General Mills announced a recall of six SKUs (stock keeping units or UPC codes) of Gold Medal flour, 2 SKUs of Signature Kitchens flour and 1 SKU of Gold Medal Wondra flour due to E.coli risk. The company expanded its recall of Gold Medal flour, Wondra flour and Signature Kitchens flour on July 1, 2016 to include flour made earlier in the fall that may still be in consumers' pantries.
