Max Kang to Lead Sales Team To Meet Growing Demand For Instant-on Applications and Core System Software

    Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:PTEC) today announced the appointment of Max Kang to the position of sales general manager for the company's Taiwan region. Max Kang will be responsible for driving sales and managing business development initiatives in the Taiwan market.
    Mr. Kang will immediately focus on building a targeted reseller network for Phoenix applications and on expanding the Phoenix original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original device manufacturer (ODM) sales channels for the company's TrustedCore Core System Software.
    Mr. Kang most recently worked at Cisco Taiwan as a country marketing manager. He has deep experience in management of local marketing planning and strategic alliance integration, based on more than 20 years in the IT business.
    In the ten years prior to Cisco, Mr. Kang was the regional manager of Microsoft. While at Microsoft, Kang was able to motivate and lead Microsoft OEM Embedded System Group employees to an high revenue growth. This paved the way for Microsoft Taiwan representative office being upgraded to a regional design center, enabling the company to provide better customer service to local OEMs.
    During his sales career in Taiwan, Mr. Kang also contributed to the formation of a mobile device strategy for Taiwanese enterprises by facilitating the establishment of Taiwan's first IA Association. The Taiwan IA Association successfully collaborated with China's major OEM customers, including Levono, Great Wall, Haier and TCL, to jointly launch a set-top box project.
