Ford To Make Bronco, Ranger In Michigan
(RTTNews) - Auto giant Ford Motor Co. (F) reportedly plans to manufacture the Ford Ranger pickup and a new Bronco SUV at its Michigan Assembly plant.
In an Interview with Detroit Free Press, the UAW Local 900 plant Chairman Bill Johnson confirmed that Ford will be manufacturing two vehicles at its Michigan plant.
Johnson was responding to US Presidential candidate Donald Trump attacks on Ford's decision to invest million of dollars in Mexico to build production plants and for sending U.S. jobs to Mexico.
"I think Trump needs to get his facts straight," said Johnson, who represents workers at Ford's Wayne, Michigan plant. "He is absolutely beating up on Ford for doing what everybody else has already done."
"We hate to see the products go to Mexico," he continued. "But with the Ranger and the Bronco coming to Michigan Assembly that absolutely secures the future for our people a lot more than the Focus does."
Ford Bronco was manufactured and distributed by Ford from 1966 to 1996.
