Fluidigm Q3 Loss Widens More Than View; Tightens 2014 Revenue Outlook

(RTTNews) - Fluidigm Corp. (FLDM) reported net loss for the third quarter that widened to $13.79 million or $0.49 per share from $4.29 million or $0.17 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss of $0.47 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

However, revenues for the quarter grew 62 percent to $29.64 million from $18.29 million in the same period last year. Analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $29.17 million.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2014, Fluidigm now forecasts revenue of $114 million to $117 million, compared to the prior range of $112 million to $118 million. Street expects the company to report revenues of $115.67 million.
