Fluidigm Q1 Loss Widens, Cuts FY Outlook; Shares Tank 14%

(RTTNews) - Fluidigm Corp (FLDM) Thursday reported first-quarter net loss of $15.9 million or $0.56 per share, wider than last year's loss of $15.4 million or $0.57 per share.

Revenues for the quarter rose to $26.7 million from $25.7 million last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss of $0.44 per share on revenues of $30.70 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Fluidigm now expects full-year revenues to be between $133 million and $143 million versus prior guidance of between $142 million and $149 million. Analysts currently estimate revenues of $147.41 million for 2015.

Shares of Fluidigm plunged 14 percent in the after-hours trading, followin the news.
