Flowers Foods Q2 Net Income Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Flowers Foods, Inc. (FLO), producer of Nature's Own, Wonder, Tastykake, and other bakery foods, reported that its second quarter net income increased 23.1% to $52 million from $42 million, prior year. Earnings per share was $0.24 compared to $0.20. Adjusted earnings per share was $0.25, for the quarter.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.22 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales increased 1.8% to $889 million. Analysts expected revenue of $887.56 million for the quarter.

The company continues to expect 52-week fiscal 2015 sales of $3.79 billion to $3.86 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $0.96 to $1.01. Analysts expect the company to report earnings per share of $0.97 on revenue of $3.77 billion.

Flowers Foods said its board will review the dividend at its next regularly scheduled meeting.
