Fleet Space, billionaire-backed hydrogen startup Koloma partner on exploration

Hydrogen discovery in the US. Image: Koloma. Australian space explorer Fleet Space Technologies and Koloma, a tech-enabled natural hydrogen exploration company backed by billionaires Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, announced Monday a partnership to accelerate exploration and development of natural hydrogen resources worldwide. Natural hydrogen has emerged as an increasingly viable source of renewable, zero-carbon energy.  Leveraging Fleet Space’s end-to-end exploration platform powered by space and AI – ExoSphere – Koloma will generate real-time 3D subsurface imaging of prospective hydrogen-forming geological formations and opportunity zones on a global scale. Koloma has developed a data-driven exploration approach – combining advanced data analytics tools and proprietary data – to identify and commercialise hydrogen reserves. After demonstrating significant hydrogen reserves in the US, Koloma aims to transform hydrogen into a primary energy resource by enabling large-scale hydrogen production and dispatchability.  “Koloma’s data-driven expertise in geologic hydrogen plus the real-time 3D imaging of Fleet Space’s ExoSphere platform will enhance the scale and speed of our exploration programs, while also furthering our commitment to environmental preservation,” Dr. Tom Darrah, Koloma’s chief technology officer said in a news release. “This collaboration opens a powerful new chapter for Earth’s clean energy future and a bold step for hydrogen’s development as a scalable and sustainable energy source.” Koloma aims to transform hydrogen into a primary energy resource by enabling large-scale hydrogen production and dispatchabilityFleet Space’s end-to-end exploration platform – ExoSphere – integrates proprietary satellites in LEO, smart sensors, and AI to streamline the acquisition, processing, and integration of exploration datasets, delivering high-quality targeting insights in days while minimising environmental impact.  Last year, Fleet Space deployed its next-generation Centauri-6 satellite on SpaceX’s Bandwagon-1 mission, launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. “Fleet Space joining forces with Koloma represents the kind of industry partnerships needed to address the urgent demand for clean energy alternatives,” Fleet Space CEO Flavia Tata Nardini said.  Weiter zum vollständigen Artikel bei Mining.com
