FirstEnergy Corp. Reveals 11% Advance In Q3 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - FirstEnergy Corp. (FE) reported a profit for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $415 million, or $0.98 per share. This was higher than $373 million, or $0.89 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.88 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.9% to $4.12 billion. This was up from $3.89 billion last year.
