Film Marketing Summit Call for Media and Technology Innovations
Variety today announces it is seeking applications from companies with innovative media products and technologies to participate in its inaugural Film Marketing Summit, to be held October 5-6 at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles.
The two-day event will bring together the top theatrical marketers from the major and independent studios to explore the dynamic world of feature film promotion. A special session on October 6th will focus on marketing innovation and give selected companies the opportunity to present their offering during a live-pitch session: Media Innovation that can Change the Game for Marketers. The session will be moderated by Gordon Paddison, of global marketing firm Stradella Road, who is serving as program director for the conference.
Selection criteria will focus on the applicant’s ability to offer innovative approaches to film marketing and deliver measurable positive impact in the coming year. Participants will be selected across a range of technology and media arenas, including television, mobile, Internet, and convergent platforms. Products and services presented must be live in the marketplace before the end of this year to be eligible.
The session format will offer participants five minutes to pitch their solutions before a panel of studio media executives, who will follow up with rapid-fire questions to establish credibility and relevance to real-world entertainment marketing challenges.
Studio panelists include Elias Plishner, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Digital Media at Sony Pictures, Laurel Bernard, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Fox Broadcasting, Tom Deluca, Vice President of Worldwide Interactive Marketing at Warner Brothers, and Doug Neil, Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing at Universal Pictures.
