PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Combined Federal Campaign of Pacific Northwest launches its 2019 campaign today, inviting all federal employees and retirees to give to thousands of participating charities. The CFC is the official workplace giving campaign for military, federal civilian, postal employees as well as federal and military retirees.
Pacific NW CFC is the local campaign covering the State of Oregon and eight counties in south Washington State serving nearly 34,000 federal employees as well as over 69,000 federal/military retirees. Pacific NW CFC is one of 36 CFC zones throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year. In 2018, Pacific NW donors gave more than $624,000 with an average gift of $603 and pledged more than 500 volunteer hours to charities.
"One of the most important ways we, as a federal community, can 'Show Some Love' to the community and region we love is through the Combined Federal Campaign, and I am honored to serve as this year's campaign chair for Pacific NW CFC," said Joyce Hamilla, Director of the Oregon Federal Executive Board. Hamilla also serves as a Local Federal Coordinating Committee member (LFCC), overseeing the management of the local CFC.
"Through the CFC, you can give back to many of the same organizations that have supported our federal workforce directly in times of need," Hamilla continued. "Your contributions also support the organizations who work alongside us to keep our forests, waterways and deserts beautiful, keep our communities vibrant and healthy, and challenge our minds and hearts to grow."
In a final remark, Hamilla added, "I encourage everyone to speak with one federal voice this CFC season, and show up for the causes you believe in through your contributions. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to give and volunteer to make our region a better place. Every contribution makes a difference!"
Pacific NW CFC is hosting a charity fair on Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SE Lobby Gallery of the Edith Green/Wendell Wyatt Federal Building (1220 SW 3rd Ave) in downtown Portland where nearly a dozen charities will be represented to meet with prospective donors. All federal employees and retirees are invited to attend and collect CFC and charity information to help make their donation decisions.
The last day to pledge is Jan. 12, 2020. We invite federal employees and retirees in Oregon State and south Washington State to pledge or learn more about the campaign at https://www.pacificnwcfc.org.
