Extended Systems Launches OneBridge Real-Time Server for Japanese Mobile Enterprise Market Remote Workers Can Securely Access Groupware Information from any Internet Access Point
Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND), a leading provider of mobile application solutions for the enterprise, announced today that it has launched a Japanese Language Pack for Extended Systems' OneBridge(R) Real Time server. The OneBridge Real Time server provides remote and mobile workers browser-based access to e-mail, calendar, contacts and task data from any Internet-enabled location via a thin-client device -- mobile phone, laptop, remote PC, airport or hotel kiosk, WebTV, etc. The Real Time server supports more than 41 different Web browsers, including those commonly used by i-Mode, EZ Web, and Vodafone Live for mobile phone Web browsing in Japan, as well as an array of devices not typically supported by other solutions. The Japanese version runs all real-time applications, menus and messages in the local language.
OneBridge Real Time server supports Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes groupware applications. Robust security features integrate with existing enterprise infrastructures ensuring enterprise data remains protected and secure. The server-based approach means IT administrators maintain control with the same level of security and application maintenance as they offer their desktop users.
"Access to real time e-mail and PIM information provides a solution to the problem in Japan of how to transform an existing mobile phone or laptop into an enterprise tool," said Charles Jepson, president and CEO of Extended Systems. "The OneBridge Real Time server enables employees to securely access mission-critical data from behind their corporate firewalls."
The Japanese Language Pack for OneBridge Real Time server is currently available from an Extended Systems' sales contact or through Kozo Keikaku Engineering, a specialist in systems integration and application design of mobility products. Based in Tokyo, Japan, Kozo Keikaku Engineering can be reached at xtnd@kke.co.jp or +03 5342 1704.
