Expeditors International Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (EXPD) reported that its second-quarter 2015 net earnings attributable to shareholders increased to $117.76 million from $91.30 million in the prior year. Net earnings per share for the quarter increased 33% to $0.61 from $0.46 last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.54 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the quarter grew 6% to $1.69 billion from $1.60 billion in the prior year. Wall Street analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $1.73 billion.

Airfreight tonnage volume increased 9% and ocean container volume increased 5%.
