E*Trade Financial Corp. Profit Rises 44% In Q1

(RTTNews) - E*Trade Financial Corp. (ETFC) revealed earnings for its first quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $122 million, or $0.43 per share. This was up from $85 million, or $0.29 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.33 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 7.0% to $472 million. This was up from $441 million last year.
