ESG Teams with Transmeta to Introduce Fanless Digital Entertainment Center; Product Demonstrations Taking Place at CES 2005

    SAN JOSE, Calif. and LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 2005--Embedded Software Group (ESG), a premier provider of systems software and development tools for the embedded market, today announced it has assisted Transmeta Corporation (NASDAQ:TMTA) in the development and integration of Royal Linux Media Center(TM), the software foundation of Transmeta's Linux-based fanless Digital Entertainment Center. The Efficeon(TM)-powered technology is being shown at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2005.
    Transmeta will be demonstrating the Royal Linux Media Center(TM), based on the ESG's award-winning Royal Linux(TM) technology, at its booth #36235 in the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall. Based on open source MythTV 0.16 software and running on Royal Linux(TM), the Royal Linux Media Center(TM) offers one of the first open source and commercially-available digital media centers. ESG's digital entertainment center delivers the latest in media requirements including 'watch, pause, fast forward and rewind' live TV, the ability to record TV programs and view them on different TVs (as well as PCs or projectors), access to the Internet, video and music libraries, pictures and much more.
