Ericsson Receives 5-year Contract Under Vodafone's Project Spring

(RTTNews) - Swedish telecom firm Ericsson AB (ERIC) Wednesday announced that it has received a 5 year agreement from British telecom giant Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L, VOD) as part of Vodafone's Project Spring organic investment programme initial phase.

The company said the network transformation contract includes both products and services to further enhance the Vodafone network quality and provide superior end-user performance.

The contract includes upgrading and expansion of Vodafone's 2G and 3G network and ambitious build-out of 4G LTE along with professional services such as network-roll out, integration, tuning & optimization as well as support services.

Ericsson will now be part of Vodafone's aggressive growth plan for both coverage and capacity under Project Spring.

The products part of the agreement include Ericsson's full RBS 6000 portfolio as well as Ericsson's unique Antenna Integrated Radio or AIR product.

Ericsson added that its services professionals will help Vodafone address all of the challenges associated with deploying 2G/3G/4G networks. They will assume responsibility for everything from planning, end-to-end network rollout, tuning and optimization.
