Emmy seeks to reduce missed and cancelled endoscopy appointments
NEW YORK, Dec. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Emmy is excited to announce partnerships with The Endoscopy Center of New York and Westside GI Center, leading gastrointestinal procedural and health care facilities dedicated to providing high-quality care. These procedures are extremely important, and New York State law requires patients who undergo a procedure involving anesthesia to have someone accompany them home after ambulatory surgery.
By working with The Endoscopy Center of New York and Westside GI Center, we hope to reduce the occurrence of missed and cancelled colonoscopy and endoscopy appointments, which have been shown to waste resources, increase colonoscopy delays, and adversely affect patient outcomes.
Emmy is a platform that allows those who require temporary assistance a way to maintain their independence and privacy. Since our launch in September, we've partnered with more than 17 healthcare providers in NYC to ensure their patients have a trusted individual to accompany them home after ambulatory procedures. We help our partners cut down on waste from last minute cancellations, reduce patient discharge times, and generate new revenue from patients who would otherwise delay procedures due to lack of accompaniment. Additionally, our built-in platform notification system allows us to serve as a healthcare logistics tool, deploying multiple reminders so a patient never misses a follow-up appointment.
