ELong Forms Special Committee To Consider "going Private" Proposal

(RTTNews) - eLong, Inc. (LONG), a mobile and online travel service provider in China, said Thursday that its board of directors has formed a special committee consisting of three independent and disinterested directors, May Wu, Shengli Wang and Adam J. Zhao, to consider the non-binding "going private" proposal from Tencent Holdings Ltd. that the Board received on August 3. Ms. May Wu will be the chairman of the special committee.

The special committee plans to retain independent legal and financial advisors in due course, to assist it in the process.

The company also said that it has appointed Chief Executive Officer Hao Jiang as a director and Adam Zhao as an independent director, effective August 10 and August 13, respectively.
