Edison Int'l Slips To Loss In Q2 - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Electric utility Edison International (EIX) Thursday reported second-quarter net loss attributable to common shareholders of $94 million or $0.29 per share, compared to net income of $74 million or $0.22 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Excluding items, core earnings for the quarter were $0.79 per share, compared to $0.56 per share a year ago.
Revenues for the quarter were $3.05 billion, compared to $2.65 billion in the year-ago period.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.67 per share on revenues of $2.67 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For fiscal year 2013, the company reaffirmed its core earnings guidance of $3.25 to $3.45 per share and updated its basic earnings guidance to a range of $2.22 to $2.42 per share.
Earlier, the company expected core earnings of $3.25 to $3.45 per share and basic earnings guidance in the range of $2.01 to $2.59 per share.
Analysts currently expect earnings of $3.37 per share for the year.
