EDF Group Q1 Sales Up 7.8%

(RTTNews) - French electric utility EDF Group SA (EDFEF.PK) Tuesday reported a 7.8 percent increase in sales for the first quarter.

First-quarter sales increased 7.8 percent to 22.86 billion euros from 21.21 billion euros last year. On an organic basis, sales grew 1.8 percent.

CEO Jean-Bernard Lévy said, "Sales progress in the first quarter demonstrates the and the efficient management of the nuclear facilities in France. Due to weather conditions, the nuclear facilities were in higher demand."

In France, first-quarter sales rose 4.4 percent to 12.71 billion euros, while sales in the UK improved 10.9 percent to 3.24 billion euros. Meanwhile, sales in Italy dropped 8.8 percent to 3.26 billion euros.
