East West Bancorp Q3 Profit Climbs 18%

(RTTNews) - East West Bancorp (EWBC) released earnings for its third quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $130.45 million, or $0.89 per share. This was higher than $110.14 million, or $0.76 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.86 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 19.3% to $303.16 million. This was up from $254.15 million last year.
