Dr. Mohan Rao Joins Navigant Economics

Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: NCI) announced today that Dr. Mohan Rao has joined Navigant Economics as a Managing Director in Chicago.

Dr. Rao specializes in economic analysis in complex intellectual property and antitrust litigation, including patent and trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, false advertising, commercial success, and antitrust analysis ranging from monopolization and exclusive dealing to price discrimination and price fixing. He is a nationally recognized expert on intellectual property issues facing corporations in transactions and complex litigation including valuation, business strategy, and the interplay between intellectual property and antitrust.

Dr. Rao has served as an economics expert in U.S. and foreign courts and in domestic and international arbitration proceedings on significant litigation matters. Dr. Rao teaches finance in the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. Earlier, he served on the faculty at UCLA and as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University. He has taught and published on a wide range of topics, including intellectual property valuation and strategy, high technology competition, econometrics, international trade, and defense economics. Select publications include the chapters on "Econometric Analysis” and "Economic Analysis in Securities Class Actions” in the Litigation Services Handbook and "Innovation Markets” in Market Definition in Antitrust: Theory and Case Studies.

Dr. Rao served as the Chair of the Valuation Committee of the Licensing Executives Society and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, on the Board of Trustees of the Rotary/One Foundation, and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
