Dow Chemical Q2 Profit Increases - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Dow Chemical Co. (DOW) reported that its net income available for the company common stockholders for the second quarter of 2015 increased to $1.1 billion from the prior year's $882 million, with earnings per share improving to $0.97 from $0.73 last year.

Operating earnings were $0.91 per share, up from $0.74 in the comparable quarter last year.

But, net Sales for the quarter dropped to $12.91 billion from $14.92 billion in the previous year. Sales were down 13 percent driven primarily by currency and lower oil price.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.83 per share and revenues of $12.96 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
