Dow Chemical Names James Fitterling As President And COO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - While reporting its financial results for the fourth quarter today, Dow Chemical (DOW) said that 2016 will be another significant year for the company. The company also said it has appointed James Fitterling to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer.

Dow Chemical said that in 2016, it has three clear priorities: close the DowDuPont merger in the second half of 2016; rapidly deliver the synergies after closing; and accelerate the release of value through the intended market-focused spin-offs.

In his new role as President and COO, Fitterling will continue to report to Dow Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Liveris. He will also play a central role in helping drive the successful completion of the proposed DowDuPont merger and subsequent establishment of its three independent public companies.

Fitterling, who has worked with Dow for 32 years, previously held the position of Vice Chairman and COO. In his new role, he will continue to have executive accountability for all of Dow's businesses excluding Dow AgroSciences.
