Dow Chemical Co Q3 Income Rises 12%

(RTTNews) - Dow Chemical Co (DOW) released earnings for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $959 million, or $0.82 per share. This was higher than $860 million, or $0.72 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.69 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 16.3% to $11.94 billion. This was down from $14.27 billion last year.
