Dolby Laboratories Appoints J. Stuart Mitchell as New Consumer Division Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) announced today that J. Stuart Mitchell has joined the company as Vice President of Worldwide Sales for the company’s Consumer Division. Mitchell brings more than 25 years of experience to Dolby and has built, managed, and led global sales teams with several high-technology companies. In his new role, Mitchell is responsible for worldwide revenue generation efforts as well as the day-to-day operations of the global sales organizations within Dolby’s Consumer Division. Prior to PalmSource, Mitchell served as executive vice president and general manager of Immersion Corporation, a leader in next-generation user interfaces utilizing touch-enabled technology, where he helped the company generate more than $20 million in revenue across several key market segments including gaming, entertainment, mobile, automotive, and medical. Before joining Immersion, Mitchell spent 12 years at Adobe Systems, where he was one of the company’s initial sales and business development managers. During his time at Adobe, it grew to a $1B software company. In his last role at Adobe, Mitchell served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing Systems Division, where he managed a 125-person global organization. Mitchell has also held sales positions at Zentec, an IBM spin-off, and Xerox Corporation. He holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering physics from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
