Digitiliti Re-Launches Creating a New Paradigm in Enterprise-Class Remote Data Protection
Digitiliti Inc. (Pink Sheets:DIGI), a new paradigm in enterprise remote
data vaulting, announced today its re-launch as a provider of on-demand
backup services featuring unlimited scalability to support spiraling
data growth rates across distributed network infrastructures. The
company first launched in 2003 as a software developer and hardware
integrator under the name Storage Elements but has since repositioned
itself to focus solely on servicing the storage needs of
enterprise-level accounts.
With the volume, variety and value of corporate data doubling as often
as every 10 months, Digitiliti offers the most advanced storage
infrastructure to large corporations, while providing them with an
easy-to-use, highly secure solution that protects the full range of
enterprise data types – from operation
systems, messaging applications and live databases to files on
individual laptops. Companies are charged in direct proportion to the
actual amount of data they have under protection, saving them on
expenses typically associated with the hardware acquisition, software
and IT personnel resources required to manage this expanding amount of
information.
"Data vaulting offered by managed service
providers is gaining critical mass as acceptance among companies
unwilling – or unable –
to tackle this important task in house continues to grow,”
said Brad Wenzel, Digitiliti’s CEO. "Digitiliti
is one of the few that has the ability to take control of this emerging
market at the enterprise level since we already have real-world
experience in managing third-party data, a firm understanding of what is
needed and wanted in remote backup, and the ability to pool resources to
keep costs in check. Large corporations can be assured that their
business-critical information is safely contained and accessible when
needed.”
Digitiliti provides an enterprise-wide data protection solution that
offers centralized backup and restore operations from a single point of
control without the need for agents, in addition to a next-generation
feature set that includes:
Massive Data Reduction – The volume
of stored data is typically reduced to less than a third of the size
of more traditional storage technologies. Through a combination of
byte-level incremental backups and the implementation of data
compression, the volume of information needing to be transferred to a
vaulted location is significantly reduced.
Highly Secure Data Protection –
Digitiliti provides users with the highest levels of data encryption
where the user holds the only key to unlock the data. With primary
off-site vaulting to a former U.S. Federal Reserve bank and redundant
replication to a second secure location, customers’
data is fully protected with no media or transmission loss.
Unlimited Scalability – Only
Digitiliti provides unlimited scalability without the need to upgrade
from gigabytes to petabytes of information stored. The more data
needing to be protected and the greater that data’s
value, the greater the return on the TCO investment.
Reliable and On-demand Availability –
Recent versions of each file can be stored on local disk, while all
versions are available on demand 24x7 from the remote data vault. Data
validation protocols offer users the ability to validate every single
byte of vaulted data with the click of a button or on a scheduled
basis – a procedure that is unavailable to
those using tape-based backups. Full system, immediate restores are
fast and guaranteed.
Facilitates Compliance – Digitiliti
helps customers meet regulatory and security requirements by providing
online availability, built-in full storage validation and full feature
reporting on all activity.
"The challenge of managing business-critical
information continues to be of utmost concern for companies of all sizes –
more so for the enterprise, which is compounded by the unpredictable
nature of internal data growth, external regulations and the need to
control department costs,” said Brad Wenzel,
CEO of Digitiliti. "When you consider the
cost of a tape library, enterprise backup software licenses and IT
management resources, in addition to the risk involved in onsite backup,
entrusting data protection to Digitiliti makes excellent business sense.”
