GOVECS presents new mobility solutions for delivery services at the EICMA

  • Further development of the transport scooter GO! T in cooperation with technology partner BOSCH sets new standards
  • Extension of product range holds many and various deployment options in store
  • Position in the food delivery sector reinforced by new cooperative ventures
  • GO! Rent as a long-term rental model for new entrants in the electromobility sector

Munich, 6 November 2018 - Die GOVECS Group ("GOVECS"), the leading manufacturer of e-scooters in Europe, is poised to introduce new mobility solutions for delivery services at this year's motorcycle trade fair EICMA scheduled to be held in Milan from 6 to 11 November. GOVECS has further developed its well-known transport scooter GO! T in cooperation with technology partner Bosch. Two additional e-scooter models will be marketed in 2019, namely the ELMOTO "HR-4" and the "Flexy". Customers stand to benefit from intelligent infrastructure concepts and an all-round care-free package available.

The dynamic growth of the online food delivery market is accompanied by rapidly increasing order volumes, and so delivery capacities also need to be increased to keep pace. Factors to be taken into account in expanding the fleet are the CO2 limits applicable in major European cities (which will be tightened significantly in the future) and the growing environmental awareness of the target customers of food delivery service operators. The megatrend of electric mobility is gaining ground, and companies in the delivery sector are increasingly relying on e-scooters instead of classic petrol scooters, not least in view of their superior economy.

This market trend is working in GOVECS' favour: the company's transport models are high-performance e-scooters that are fully capable of meeting the needs of the delivery sector. The e-scooters are produced to the highest quality standards - a major distinguishing factor that sets them apart from the numerous models in the low-price segment which are not very suitable for the high-performance utilisation required in the delivery sector.

In cooperation with technology partner Bosch, the flagship product in the delivery industry, the GO! transport scooter, is being further developed. Compared to the predecessor model, the new drive system ,Made in Germany' offers 50 per cent greater acceleration and a reach of over 100 kilometres, reflecting a 20 per cent improvement. What is of decisive importance for delivery services above all is the impressive payload of 180 kg and the maximum engine performance of 4 kW, making it possible to start fully loaded even on an incline of 20%.

By expanding its product array, in 2019 GOVECS plans to offer more options for deploying transport scooters and thus to enlarge its target group. For all enterprises that are not reliant on the full, concentrated power and huge transport box of the GO! T, the new models ELMOTO HR-4 and Flexy are two excellent alternatives that will be available on the market.

As part of its growth strategy, GOVECS is consolidating its position in this market by carrying out projects together with the key players in the delivery sector. Businesses of note, such as Burger King, Deliveroo and Domino's Pizza, already are GOVECS customers. Thanks to an innovative infrastructure concept, the company managed to score in terms of new cooperative ventures with foodora and Lieferando.

GOVECS has already set up GO! Rent hubs for foodora and Lieferando in Stuttgart, Munich and Berlin. Using a sharing principle, the centrally located stations keep between 5 and 10 e-scooters available at all times. The delivery couriers can come and borrow an e-scooter and later return it again. For GOVECS, this is a strategically important measure in their effort to win new customers and to diversify the sources of revenue, by generating a regular income stream through rentals.

For this reason, additional GO! Rent hubs will be set up in major European cities over the next few months. Thomas Grübel, the founder and CEO of GOVECS, explains: "We're really delighted to have also been able to convince our latest customers of the quality of our e-scooters, and the pleasure people have in riding them. Lieferando and foodora are first-rate references for us, and this will help us to reinforce our position in this attractive market segment even further in the future."

GOVECS offers the long-term rental plan GO! Rent to market newcomers or smaller businesses. This allows companies to avoid tying up their capital in purchasing a fleet of their own. As part of their "all-round carefree" package, GOVECS also handles insurance cover as well as regular servicing and maintenance of the scooters. This enables GO! Rent customers to outsource their entire fleet management to GOVECS.
