DGAP-News: CHORUS Clean Energy AG purchases a further wind park in Germany
- Vendor is Energiekontor AG from Bremen
- Additional purchases of highly profitable wind and solar parks are planned
Neubiberg/Munich, May 18, 2016 - CHORUS Clean Energy AG ("CHORUS"), a specialized operator of solar and wind parks, headquartered in Neubiberg near Munich, acquired a wind park in the Rhein-Erft district near Cologne with a total capacity of 8.55 megawatts (MW). With this, the total capacity of the portfolio managed by CHORUS now exceeds 335 MW.
The wind park Hürth consists of three GE 2.5-120 turbines from the tier-one supplier General Electric. With a nominal capacity of 2.85 MW per turbine, each has a rotor diameter of 103 meters and a hub height of more than 98 meters. The three turbines became operative shortly before the purchase.
The latest wind park in the CHORUS portfolio can receive a guaranteed feed- in tariff averaging over EUR 87 per megawatt-hour, which is protected until the end of 2036. Electricity production for the site is expected to amount to about 17,500 megawatt-hours per full operational year, which would result in an annual revenue of about EUR 1.5 million.
The park was sold by the wind park developer and operator Energiekontor AG based in Bremen, from whom CHORUS has made several purchases in the past.
In terms of nominal capacity, wind energy now accounts for 54 percent of the CHORUS portfolio, of which 74 percent is located in Germany.
