Ad-hoc RELEASE Announcement according to Article 17 European Market Abuse Regulation (MAR)
Altered Tax Assessments for 2005 - 2008
Dreieich, 3 August 2016. Today the Finanzamt Offenbach am Main (tax office Offenbach am Main) served to Biotest AG altered tax assessments for corporate tax, solidarity tax and trade tax for the years 2005 until 2008. The alterations are based on the investigations by the tax authorities and the public prosecutor in connection with the Russia business of Biotest AG. This leads to liabilities for tax and interest totalling to approx. EUR 20 million.
The company will have the tax assessments evaluated by their tax consultants. According to our first appraisal this approach by the financial authorities is conflicting with recently published decisions by the Bundesfinanzhof (Federal Fiscal Court) on the tax deduction of operating expenses.
