Air Berlin PLC generates total group revenue of EUR 1,230.2 million in the third quarter of 2016 - net result amounts to EUR -45.6 million

London, 10 November 2016 - Air Berlin PLC has generated a group revenue of EUR 1,230.2 million in the third quarter of 2016 compared to EUR 1,300.9 million in the third quarter of 2015. The operating result (EBIT) amounted to EUR -17.3 million in the third quarter of the current financial year compared to EUR 81.4 million in the previous financial year's quarter. Compared to the same quarter of the previous financial year, EBITDAR decreased from EUR 256.1 million to EUR 164.3 million. The financial result amounted to EUR -28.7 million in the third quarter of 2016 compared to EUR -20.9 million in the same quarter of previous financial year.

Pre-tax earnings in the third quarter of 2016 amounted to EUR -45.8 million compared to EUR 60.5 million in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The net result in the third quarter of 2016 amounted to EUR -45.6 million compared to EUR 56.2 million in the third quarter in 2015. Earnings per share based on an average number of 116,800,508 ordinary shares outstanding in the third quarter of 2016 thus amounted to EUR -0.45 compared with EUR 0.43 in the third quarter of 2015 (undiluted) and EUR -0.45 compared with EUR 0.17 in the same quarter of the previous financial year (diluted).

As of 30 September 2016, total assets amounted to EUR 1,552.5 million (31 December 2015: EUR 1,418.4 million), total equity amounted to EUR -1,032.2 million (31 December 2015: EUR -799.4 million) and net debt amounted to EUR 1,065.9 million (31 December 2015: EUR 877.9 million).
