DeVry University Appoints Craig Jacob as President of Phoenix Metro
DeVry University has appointed Craig Jacob as president of the school’s Phoenix Metro, which includes DeVry’s main Phoenix campus and center locations in Northeast Phoenix and Mesa. Jacob previously held senior-level administrative positions with the University of Phoenix’s Grand Rapids, Mich. and Phoenix campuses. Jacob assumes a role previously held by James Dugan, who has been promoted to vice president for DeVry University’s mountain group campus and center locations in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
In his new position, Jacob’s role is to ensure that DeVry University achieves its mission to foster student learning through high-quality, career-oriented education integrating technology, business and management across the greater Phoenix valley. Specifically, Jacob will oversee all metro faculty and employees, manage the Phoenix Metro’s operating budget and administer all student activities.
"DeVry University has been in Phoenix for more than 40 years and Craig’s understanding of local market demands and workforce needs provides us with a valuable management asset,” said David J. Pauldine, president of DeVry University. "Arizona has been heavily challenged by the current recession. Craig’s leadership will help to ensure that valley residents have access to the highest quality career-oriented education available for many more decades to come.”
Jacob’s 15-year career in higher education management includes various positions overseeing strategic operations, business development, enrollment, and program development. His positions have included campus vice president/director, director of enrollment, management assessment program developer and adjunct faculty.
Jacob earned a BS in finance and statistical analysis from Arizona State University and an MBA in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
