Deluxe Q2 Profit Tops Estimate; Boosts FY15 Earnings Outlook
(RTTNews) - Deluxe Corp. (DLX) reported net income for the second quarter of $56.1 million or $1.11 per share, compared to $50.1 million or $0.99 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings per share for the second quarter was $1.13, compared to $1.01 in the prior year quarter.
Revenue for the second quarter rose 7.5% to $435.9 million from $405.4 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.06 per share on revenue of $428.98 million for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking forward to the third quarter, the company forecasts revenue of $439 million to $447 million and earnings of $1.10 to $1.15 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.13 per share on revenue of $440.71 million for the third quarter.
For the full year 2015, the company now expects revenue of $1.76 billion to $1.78 billion, earnings of $4.35 to $4.45 per share and adjusted earnings of $4.50 to $4.60 per share. Previously, the company expected revenue of $1.75 billion to $1.78 billion, earnings of $4.27 to $4.42 per share and adjusted earnings of $4.40 to $4.55 per share.
Analysts currently expect the company to earn $4.48 per share on revenue of $1.77 billion for the full year 2015.
