Delta Air Lines Sept Traffic And Capacity Rise

(RTTNews) - Delta Air Lines (DAL) reported that its traffic in September 2017 increased 0.3% from September 2016, on a capacity increase of 0.6%.

The airline said its Total System traffic for the month rose 0.3% to 17.65 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 17.60 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

Monthly capacity was 20.92 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 0.6% from 20.80 billion ASMs in the prior year period.

Total System Load factor for the month was 84.4%, down 0.2 points from 84.6% reported last year.

Delta announced that it expects its operating margin to be 15.5%-16.5%1. Hurricane Irma negatively impacted results by approximately $120 million which translates to approximately one point of margin.
