Delphi Automotive Q4 Profit Tops View, Revenue Misses - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Delphi Automotive Plc. (DLPH), a vehicle components manufacturer, said fourth-quarter net income increased to $344 million or $1.16 per share from $298 million or $0.97 per share in the prior year period.

Net income excluding restructuring and other special items totaled $1.32 per share, while in the prior year period it was $1.12 per share. On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $1.27 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue was $4.15 billion, compared to $4.18 billion the prior year period, reflecting continued above-market volume growth in Asia and North America, offset by unfavorable currency impacts. Analysts expected revenues of $4.23 billion.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the firm expects adjusted earnings per share of $1.15 - $1.30, and revenue of $4.150 billion to $4.250 billion. Wall Street expects earnings per share of $1.28, with revenues of $4.26 billion.

For the fiscal year, adjusted earnings are expected to be $5.35 - $5.65 per share on revenues of $17.100 billion to $17.500 billion. Analysts look for earnings of $5.57 per share and revenues of $17.67 billion.
