Death of a patient from the Regional Psychiatric Centre

SASKATOON, May 21, 2019 /CNW/ - On May 18, 2019, Benjamin Toutsaint, a patient from the Regional Psychiatric Centre, died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Toutsaint, 32 years old, had been serving a sentence of 2 years and 4 days, which began on October 25, 2018 for Assault – Use of Force.

The patient's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the coroner be notified.
