Cypress Semiconductor Q2 Profit Dips - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (CY), a developer of mixed-signal, programmable solutions, specialized semiconductor memories, and integrated semiconductor solutions, Thursday reported a decrease in earnings for the second quarter, on lower revenues.

For the three-month period, the company reported net income of $3.1 million or $0.02 per share compared with $4.9 million or $0.03 per share during the same quarter last year.

Excluding certain items, earnings declined to $21.6 million or $0.14 per share for the fourth quarter.

On average, fifteen analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.07 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Revenues for the quarter was logged at $193.4 million compared with $201.3 million last year. Analysts were expecting the company to report revenues of $182.91 million.

In a separate statement, the company said its PRoC-UI (Programmable Radio-on-a-Chip-User Interface) solution has been selected by PC supplier Lenovo for its new SmartTouch N800 wireless touch mouse.
