DUARTE, Calif., July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CrossCore, Inc. announced today the appointment of fitness industry veterans Christopher M. Camacho as Director of Business Development, and Edward P. Sortino, as Director of Government and GSA Programs. Both are respected, long time fitness industry players with extensive experience and contacts, and will play key roles in CrossCore's continuing growth as the leader in Rotational Bodyweight Training™.
Camacho has been involved in the sports and fitness industry for more than twenty years, having worked with several of the leading fitness manufacturers, training organizations, clubs and gyms.
Prior to joining CrossCore®, Camacho served in leading roles as Director, Fitness Development & Programming at GoFit, Director, Strategic Partnerships at TRX / Fitness Anywhere, and Director of Business Development & Sports Performance at Power Plate North America. Camacho has extensive club and training experience from his nine-year tenure at Sports Club/LA and Spectrum Clubs serving in roles including Fitness Manager, Fitness Supervisor, and Personal Trainer.
Camacho graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training, and served as conditioning coach and athletic trainer for the men's basketball and soccer programs. He received his Master's in Sport Management from University of San Francisco. Camacho is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and is also an Adjunct Professor at Metropolitan State University Denver, teaching courses in Sports Management and Sports Entrepreneurship.
"From my time with other leading fitness brands and clubs, I am a believer of suspended bodyweight and functional training," says Chris Camacho. "When I first used the CrossCore180®, with its unique unlocking, rotational pulley design, I knew it was a game changer. Its ability to add rotational movements and increased instability to bodyweight training is the evolution in this space. CrossCore's emerging training and education program is much more diverse than anything available on the market today."
Sortino joins CrossCore® from TRX / Fitness Anywhere where he served as Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard Manager from 2007 until recently. At TRX, Sortino was involved in business development, sales and customer service, developing lasting and meaningful relationships throughout the US Armed forces fitness communities.
Sortino is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a USA Weightlifting Performance Coach, a TRX Instructor and Sports Medicine Trainer, and a Certified Personal Trainer. In these roles he has helped customers develop and maintain best practices in one-on-one training, small group and large group exercise programs.
Prior to joining TRX, Sortino held various Executive and Sales management roles in the office solutions and litigation support sector after serving in the United States Marine Corps with distinction and awards. Sortino, a distinguished combat veteran, departed the Marine Corps upon honorable discharge as a Staff Non-Commission Officer. As a Marine, he was awarded medals for heroism as well as numerous medals and awards for outstanding leadership and performance.
"I am excited to bring my extensive military relationships to a growing company like CrossCore®," said Ed Sortino. "They have created an evolutionary product and training program that takes bodyweight training for my military brothers and sisters to a whole new level – one that will not only help rehabilitate our injured warriors, but will also increase the combat efficiency of our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen, something I know that they are seeking."
"Chris and Ed are a valuable addition to the growing CrossCore® team and we know that their experience will have a major impact on our business", said JP Brice, President, CrossCore, Inc.
