Con-way Results Miss Estimates

(RTTNews) - Con-way Inc (CNW), a freight transportation and logistics services company, on Wednesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $44 million or $0.76 per share compared with $53.7 million or $0.93 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.76 per share compared with $0.91 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter fell 4.4% to $1.43 billion from $1.49 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.80 per share on revenues of $1.50 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
