Comcast Q3 Profit Climbs 15%

(RTTNews) - Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) Wednesday reported a growth in third quarter net income to $2.237 billion from $1.996 billion a year ago. On a per share basis, earnings climbed 15 percent to $0.92 from $0.80 in the prior year.

On average, 25 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.91 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter increased 14.2 percent to $21.319 billion from $19.669 billion in the previous year. Wall Street expected revenue of $21.16 billion.

Cable Communications revenue increased 6.9 percent, while total revenue per customer relationship were up 3.6 percent. Revenue for the NBC Universal were up 28.3 percent.
